YELLOWHAMMER
The Yellowhammer is a member of the Bunting family and can be found on heaths, farmland, and moorland edge. The male has a yellow head and breast with faded black lines on it's head, orange/brown on its breast and a brown striped back. The female is a paler yellow and more pronounced blackish streaks. There are 790,000 pairs resident in the UK and the best views of the Yellowhammer I have had are at High Batts near Ripon and RSPB Old Moor near Barnsley.
