WHITETHROAT

The Whitethroat is a common and widespread warbler found in the UK between April and October and looks similar to the Reed Warbler.  The Whitethroat has a darkish brown and black back with a lighter whitish brown underside.  The head is a brownish grey and the throat is white giving the bird its name.  There are currently 930,000 pairs that migrate to the UK and can be found in hedgerows, scrub, thickets, dense bramble patches and nettle beds.

Weight: 12-18g (½oz)

Average Life: 5 years
