REDSHANK

The Redshank is a medium sized wader, greyish brown back and head with a mottled white and greyish brown underside.  The Redshank has red legs and feet with a half black, half red beak.  There are 39,000 pairs with that number rising to 125,000.  Redshanks can be found on estuaries, marshes, wetlands and river valleys.

Length: 27-29cm (10½-11½in)

Wingspan: 45-52cm (18-20½in)

Weight: 85-155g (3-5oz)

Average Life: 10 years
