NUTHATCH

The Nuthatch is a short tailed woodland bird which also comes to feeders on a regular basis.  The Nuthatch has a blue cap with a black stripe across the eye and white underneath the stripe.  The back is also blue with small hints of black on the wings and tail with a chestnut breast and underside.  There are currently 140,000 pairs resident in the UK and the best place to see them is Adel Dam & High Batts.  I have been lucky enough to see this bird on a regular basis and have even seen its North American cousin the White Breasted Nuthatch in Canada.
