DUNNOCK

The Dunnock is a small Robin sized bird that is brown and grey in colour with streaked back.  The Dunnock is also sometimes known as "Hedge Accentor", "Hedge Warbler" and the more common "Hedge Sparrow".  This bird is very widespread and found across the UK in woods, moor land, thickets, cliff top scrub, parks and gardens and there are currently 2.1 million pairs in the UK.

Wingspan: 19-21cm (7½-8½in)

Weight: 19-24g (½-¾oz)

Average Life: 5 years
