BLUE TIT

The Blue Tit is one of the most common garden birds, found right across the United Kingdom with an estimated 3.3 million pairs breeding each year.  The Blue Tit is one of 9 different species of Tit found in the UK (sometimes known as the Chickadee in North America) and they are - Bearded, Blue, Coal, Crested, Great, Long-Tailed, Marsh, Penduline & Willow.  Apart from the blue, the Blue Tit also has a green back, white & black face and a yellow breast.  The Blue Tit is an extremely photogenic bird and can be found in woodland, gardens, scrub hedgerows and reedbeds.  This year we have had Blue Tits nesting in our nest box at the back of the garden.
